General Questions
How long does a swimming remodel take from start to finish??
That depends on how involved the project is. A complete renovation consists of coping, tiling, and plastering your swimming pool and spa. This generally takes 7 days or less. However, if your vision is a complete remodel of your backyard, including a new deck, plumbing, and equipment, that will take considerably longer.
What services does FEM Pools provide??
We offer a wide variety of services, including New Gunite swimming pool installation, swimming pool coping, tile installation and repair, plastering with a variety of finishes, new pool equipment installation, new plumbing installation, pool deck installation or resurfacing, design and installation for water features and waterfalls, and much more!
When should I replaster my swimming pool and / or spa??
Re-plastering a pool or spa involves chipping out the old plaster down to the gunite and should only be done after your pool or spa has shown wear from aging. These signs include roughness, discoloration, and delamination, and can occur as early as 8 to 10 years of age, depending on the quality of the finish applied initially and most importantly the care of the plaster, chemistry opening and closing.
We aren't sure if we should use the local water supply for our newly remodeled pool. How should we proceed?
The only alternative to your local water supply is to purchase water by truck, which is cost prohibitive for most people. Special precautions should be taken with water that is known to be hard. We strongly urge you to consult with a pool service professional or contact our office if this is the case.
How long will it take to fill our pool?
The exact amount of time depends on a number of factors, including your local water pressure, the number of hoses being used, and the size of your pool. An average pool takes between 24 and 36 hours to fill. It’s important to remember your water should not be shut off until your pool is completely full.
